Good morning!

Characteres in Question:
Aetheriss - WP Volkmar (13)
Aetheriss - Magus Gorfang (9)
Gaviond - DoK Gorfang (just rolling now lol)

I am Abe, a 29 year old claims adjuster from Wisconsin. I have a wife who plays Warcraft and two children, 9 and 1. Most of my nights are dedicated to gaming, especially after my wife goes to bed. I am one of those people who need very little sleep, a skill that has come in handy with the one year old.

For the last year I have been co-founder and council member of Desecration on the Fizzcrank server in Warcraft. (www.desguild.com). We are a casual community of friends who gathered together from different servers and created a safe haven for parents and kids to play together, and people who were tired of "hardcore gaming" to find respite. Unfortunately, after 5 years and 4 level 80's (and numerous alts over 50), I have simply grown tired of Warcraft. I still play with my friends and family there on some nights, but I have given my raiding positions to newcomers. For the last few months Warcraft has been nothing but a chat-channel for me, and coming back to WAR has given me a new spark for actual gameplay :)

I was a beta tester (before the "everyone who preordered is in" beta), and played from then until about 2 months post-launch. Between bugs and errors, and most of my friends leaving the game early, I joined them in Warcraft. When 1.3.2 was released, I came back for another run at it. Ran the trial for several weeks trying out all the classes, and ensuring that WP was my class and which alts I would want. 1.3.2 resparked my interest in the game, especially since it runs beautifully on even my laptop now!

I want the challenge of having to work for things on this server, because I have seen what a challenge can do to a community of players. If you get a good community and guild, standing up to the challenge, amazing things happen. And that's what I want to be a part of.

I will level, grow, and play my heart out to get to end game. Most importantly to you, you won't hear me begging for gold, materials, or runs. Sure, I will have a nub question every now and then, but for the most part I am self sufficient. But when I hit the level you can use me, I will be there for you, all my talents are at your disposal.

Feel free to contact me in game or via my email!

Shadow Congress is no longer a functioning guild in Warhammer. You will find a few straglers carrying the SC tag, but thats pretty much it.

Shadow Congress is an Aion guild now in form and function.

Not much I can help you with in Warhammer. Sorry friend, its always nice to get apps, so yeah thanks!

As Ehduh mentions, we've wholly turfed WAR and moved on to Aion. WAR meant a lot to me, and it ended up being a letdown, especially in the endgame and pointless grinding for renown ranks that have no appreciable impact on your character since you'll never acquire the best gear the renown ranks open up to you. That's not to mention the horrible endgame instances, city sieges, etc.

You sound like you would have fit us well. I'm sorry to disappoint you. I wish you all the best in WAR, and hope you find everything you're looking for.

On the other side of things you may give consideration to switching to Aion. Everything I have heard says WAR isn't doing so great.

To the OP. If you check back here, contact Kharthus or Cirien (Cirian)? on Volkmar. He represents Shadow Congress on the Order side (though the guild is no longer active).

If you want to drop your Order toon and play Destro on Volkmar, contact me (Tortelvis) in game for info.

I believe we are the only two stragglers from SC still playing War, although a few more do pop on from time to time. War is struggling a bit, however, recent balance and mechanic changes have improved game play considerably. As a result, the Volkmar population is currently very healthy with city pushes by both realms and rapid scenario pops.

The guy has not been back since 2 hrs after he posted. I'll go ahead and guess he won't read your post.

Having played to the endgame of WAR I can say it is a good game up until that point. When you're 40 the fun pretty much stops. It amounts to repetitive minimal content for a chance at the gear you may be able to use if you spend months of more repetitive content to lvl you to the point of being able to use it.

Aion rewards you for everything you do. Xp comes from multiple sources, it has meaningful crafting (yes, crafting you don't have to max out for it to be useful), and far more dungeon-style group content.

But I like the repetitive part of rvr combat. It's not for any gear that I continue to play, it's for the challenge of getting better versus other people. Watching my Dammaz Kron go from -5 to +10 against certain folks brings me great joy. :)

Also, isn't end game kind of the problem with every game? Once you grab that carrot at the end of the stick your motivation to run forward is gone.

What is SC member strength like on Aion anyway? Is it close to EQ numbers?

There was no carrot or stick in WAR. :)

There are certainly more members in Aion than WAR ever had. Weeknights are pretty quiet, but weekends we're pretty much steady 7-10 online.
